Contribute your time, expertise, goods or services (hopefully valued at $300 or more) and get a) love and admiration, 2) a special SPIN Facebook frame with a crown on it because you rule!, and 3) HUGE promotion of you/your company before, during, and after the auction!!! ANYONE can contribute – you don’t have to be a SPIN member to get this exposure (and our undying gratitude).
Ideas of what SUPPLIERS could contribute:
Packages do well with this group. Perhaps a couple nights at one of your properties with a special tour in your city (how about a cool behind-the-scenes tour of a museum or venue that most people don’t get to see? Or tickets to the race/game/concert)? Could you coach someone on a topic of your expertise? Negotiating? CRM use? Marketing? Sales techniques? Social media? A/V insider info? An audit of a contract they are negotiating? A webinar on a specific topic that might interest a planner’s audience?
Ideas of what PLANNERS could contribute:
GREAT EXAMPLE: Last year, Tracey Smith donated this: Tacos & Tito's Tour with Tracey in Austin! As a guest of SPIN Executive Director, Tracey Smith, take a tour of the best tacos in the world—in Austin, Texas. We’ll see the sights along the way, such as many urban murals and Tracey will snap your photo with them. Then, just before sunset, we’ll board Capitol Cruises for the most spectacular display of Mexican bats in Texas. It’s sure to “taco” your breath away! Accommodations for one night at Chez Smith (must love dogs!) or a hotel of your choosing (at your own additional expense). Airport transfers included.

Ideas of what PLANNERS could contribute:
- A special tour in your city with specific highlights or behind-the-scenes stuff most people don’t get to see? Consider showing off your hometown’s claim to fame, like donuts, a funky museum, or vodka! (Sounds like a perfect weekend to me…)
- An hour or more of mentoring on a specific topic – what do you ROCK at that would benefit another planner? International meetings? Contracts? Marketing? Sponsorships? Registration software? Starting their own business?
- Could you coach a supplier or speaker on how to get more clients? Offer a personal introduction to 10 or 20 of your planner contacts?
- Can you help another planner onsite?
- Do you have meeting goods (badge stock, ribbons, blank bags, etc.) you are no longer using?
- Unused sleeping rooms at a meeting?
