Supplier FAQs

Q: What’s in it for me (SPIN membership)?

  • Membership includes access to the Directory of more than 2500 North American senior-level meeting planners. These are the planners who are so hard to locate, because they typically limit their participation to fewer industry events. SPIN planner members have a combined total spend of $6 billion annually.
  • Suppliers will have a listing in the Directory along with the ability to include a special offer available only to SPIN members.
  • Access to the members-only Facebook page for conversations and relationship-building with other SPIN members
  • Access to Branch (chapter) events
  • Monthly newsletter with articles that are focused on senior-level topics and senior-level people in the industry
  • Education specific to suppliers, with the ability to earn your CCSE (Customer-Certified Sales Expert) designation, exclusively available through SPIN.
  • Supplier membership capped at 33% of total SPIN membership, giving you the best planner-to-supplier ratio in the industry.
  • Join the conversation with nearly 3,000 senior-level planners from throughout North America
  • Listing in the membership directory along with the opportunity to feature a members-only offer of your choice
  • Access to the fully searchable, sortable membership directory
  • Supplier education to help you understand current planner trends and the latest sales techniques that work. Plus, earn your CCSE (Customer-Certified Sales Expert) designation.
  • Discounted rate of $599 for subsequent memberships from the same company location

Q: Does my membership fee include SPINCon?

  • SPINCon caps supplier participation at 1/3 of overall attendance. SPINCon always sells out, so to date, we are only able to accommodate our year-round sponsors. To guarantee your spot at SPINCon, you must be a year-round sponsor.

Q: Can I market myself and my company directly to planner members?

  • We strictly prohibit selling on our member Facebook page – in fact, we have a two-strike policy: the first time you are warned, the second time your membership is terminated without refund. You may, however, reach out to fellow SPIN members outside of the Facebook group, in any manner you choose (Messenger, email, phone, etc.). Our members STRONGLY prefer a relationship-building approach, not a salesy one!
  • If you are a year-round sponsor, your message goes directly to members throughout the year, according to your package inclusions. All packages include SPINCon attendance, as well as pre-event SPINCon marketing, and onsite opportunities such as the Hosted Buyer Program. At SPINCon, the ratio of planners to suppliers is kept strictly at two planners for every one supplier. SPINCon sponsors also get the list of attendees.
  • The best way to market your company to senior-level planners is to tell them something they don’t know, and then give them something they can’t get elsewhere. Your directory listing will be the place to wow planner members with solutions to their situations and some fun facts about your company or venues. Skip the info anyone can find on the Internet.
  • The directory will also be where you find your target market. Member data will show you if that member would consider booking with you. Rather than a shotgun approach, you will be able to find specific prospects who are likely to look at and purchase from you.
