Shawna Suckow, CMP, was a corporate planner for seven years, and owned her own company, COMPASS Events for 10 years before founding SPIN in 2008. She never thought SPIN would evolve to become what it is today. In 2012, her first book, Planner Pet Peeves, was published, and she also was named one of the Top 10 Women Influencers in Meetings & Events. Today, in addition to running SPIN, she consults with suppliers all over the world to teach them how planners really think, act, build relationships, and make buying decisions. Her goal is to help bridge the communication gap between planners and suppliers and help each understand the other better. She speaks domestically and internationally on the secret languages of planners and suppliers, CSR, social media, sponsorship strategies, the impact of meetings, supplier marketing strategies, and current industry issues. Corporate Meeting Planner for 20+ years Tracey B. Smith, CMP, CMM, was a high tech corporate meeting planner for more than 15 years, focusing most of her time on developing engaging programs for the company’s user group community. Tracey later joined Garrett Speakers International as the vice president of Business Development, working with many corporate and association planners. She joined SPIN in 2010, and in 2011, Smith worked with SPIN members to develop the award-winning program for the first-ever SPINCon North America. In 2012, Tracey will publish her first book. |

Sara Vanderbilt
Planner, Techie, Trainer for 15+ years Prior to becoming the Director of Operations at The Planner Networks, Sara Vanderbilt worked as a meeting and training seminar planner. Sara caught the “meeting planning” bug when she worked as an Independent Trip Director. She has planned meetings and training seminars for various corporations both nationally and internationally, including seminars delivering Microsoft's latest technology. Now, in her role as VP of Operations, she manages all aspects of the SPIN association to ensure its success. |
